Orange is…

A sunrise so intense and vivid that it takes your breath away,

Tangy juice and the fruit it’s squeezed from,

Lichens decorating stones and stumps,

Autumn leaves gently floating to the ground to rest.

There are orange flowers - Marigolds, Poppies, Daylilies, and Zinnias.

Pumpkins waiting in the garden for carving and pie,

Carrots, horses’ and bunnies’ favorite treats, and

Cheese for tacos, pizza, grilled sammies, and crackers

Are orange, too.

Orange is…

The Goldfish and Koi blowing bubbles,

A fox hiding her cubs in a den,

The Monarch, king of all butterflies, transporting pollen,

And a Bengal tiger prowling through a mangrove swamp.

Stones of Topaz, Jasper, and Amber,

Fire and its glowing embers,

Excitement, enthusiasm,

Cheerfulness and joy are all orange.

Orange doesn’t have a rhyming partner.

It’s the rainbow’s second bow, and

The color of the sacral chakra, our creativity.

Halloween is orange.

Orange is warmth,

Coziness in front of the fire on a cold winter’s day,

A campfire with s’mores,

A heartfelt hug,

And a sunset that fills you with wonder and awe.
